Ruth Williams -- Oct. 7, 1941 - Sept. 9, 2006

Memorial services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at West Main Baptist Church for Ruth Williams, 2101 W. Clayton Ave., Artesia.

Mrs. Williams, 64, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at her home.

The Rev. Jason Kraft will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Mrs. Williams was born October 7, 1941 in Redmond, Calif., the daughter of Floyd E. Williams and Marybelle (Eile) Williams.

On Jan. 5, 1959, she was married to Bobby Williams in Goldsmith, Texas.

 She came to Artesia in 1989 from Stafford, Va.

She was a homemaker and member of West Main Baptist Church, Artesia Bulldog Sams. She was an avid bowler who bowled several years in the Women’s Bowling Nationals and was life member Women’s International Bowling Congress. She liked to sew, and enjoyed crafts and ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and brother Richard Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Williams, of the family home; her father, Floyd Williams, of McKinney, Texas; a son, Bobby Williams Jr., of Artesia; daughters Renee Colley and husband, Randy, of Milford, Va., and Kimmy Klein and Danny Baecker of Trenton, Ohio; a brother, Robert Williams; and wife, Lois, of Great Falls, Md.; sisters Katherine Friemel and husband, Marvin of Andrews, Texas and Donna Miles and husband, Mike; of Princeton, Texas; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
