Evelyn Talbot -- April 26, 1911 - March 21, 2006

 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Evelyn Talbot, age 94, of Roswell, who passed away March 21, 2006, peacefully at a local nursing home.  She was loved by family, friends and her church.

Evelyn was born April 26, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., to Louis and Bessie Belle Witt. Her parents preceded her in death as well as a daughter, Noreen.

She married John Talbot on May 25, 1940, in Chicago. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Joann (Talbot) Hazel and her husband Bob, of Roswell. She is also survived by four grandsons; Daniel and Shelli Hazel of Columbus, Ohio, Richard and Carole Hazel of Brooklyn, N.Y., Michael and Donnamarie Hazel of Green Acres, Fla. and Douglas Hazel of Rockford, Ill,; and 10 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Lila Hazel, Shaelyn Hazel, Lisa Morris, Danielle Rufo, Dominic Rufo, David Rufo Jr., Rachel Hazel, Trevor Hazel and Taylor Hazel. Also surviving is Evelyn's niece, Diane Kelley and her husband Normal Kelly, of Roswell.

Mrs. Talbot had been employed as a salesperson for J.C. Penney until her retirement. She loved the Chicago Cubs from early girlhood and loved gardening and bowling and her church. She bowled in the Senior Olympics in 2000 through 2002.  She bowled a 200 game when she was 90.
