'Lea' Sparnon - February 23, 1918-April 7, 2013
No local services are scheduled for Ethel Lea Sparnon, age 95, of Roswell, who passed away on April 7, 2013. Services will be in Franklin, NJ, interment to follow in Northy Hardyston Township, NJ
Lea was born in Wanaque, NJ, on February 23, 1918, to Thomas and Mary Gordon. They have both preceded her in death.
She married Charles H. Sparnon in Franklin, NJ, on November 12, 1938. He has also preceded her in death.
She has also been preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Robert Gordon.
She is survived by two sons, Charlie Sparnon and wife Diane of Roswell, John Sparnon and wife Debby of Andover, NJ; three sisters, Elizabeth Gramlich of Wanaque, NJ, Jenny Drew of Franklin, NJ, and Margaret Gould of Springhill, FL; six grandchildren, Douglas Sparnon and wife Mary Ann of Roswell, Lori Sanders of Littlefield, TX, Jason Fairfield and fiancee Patti Summers of Roswell, Summer Spurlock and husband Michael of Greenville, TX, Jeffrey Sparnon of Andover, NJ, and James Sparnon of Brooklyn NY; Ten great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Lea was the oldest child in her family and shared the love of her family. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and gambling. She loved the New York Yankees and was a member of Golden Agers.

Note from webmaster: Although Lea did not bowl locally in Roswell, she attended the league bowling sessions with her son Charlie at the Town and Country Bowling Center in Roswell. She was a very special "lady" and we all will remember her fondly.
